by Holger Henrik Herholdt Drachmann (1846 - 1908)

Fjerne Toner
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Dig vil jeg bære
Paa mine Sange,
Som Bølgerne bære
Fiskerens Jolle;
Lempelig vugges den
Frem og tilbage,
Og Takten fløjtes,
Af Aaretolle.

Og Fiskergutten,
Som ligger ved Roret
Og drømmer vaagen
Om hende, han ved nok,
Han lytter til Sangen
Og synes, at Baaden
For alle hans Tanker
Ikke er bred nok.

Jeg lærer ham Tonen.
Naar atter han sidder
Sent paa Stranden
Og Tanke-Garn fletter,
Saa taber jeg Traaden:
Der lyder fra Havet
Sang i de maane --
Lysende Nætter.
