by Holger Henrik Herholdt Drachmann (1846 - 1908)

Vidt har jeg flakket i Verden
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Vidt har jeg flakket i Verden,
hér fæsted sig træt min Fod;
at tidt man sig taber derude,
først ret jeg hos Dig forstod.
Og tog jeg paa Verdens Scene
det glimrende Flitter for Guld:
hos Dig har jeg fundet det rene
Metal i den hjemlige Muld.

Her staar Du med Ziffre skrevet.
Af Guld har jeg hugget dit Navn
og sat Dig en Støtte paa Stedet,
hvor Baaden er kommet i Havn.
Lad Skumring og Taager saa falde:
Paa Sangens Bautasten
staar luende lys for Alle
Bogstaven pur og ren.

Jeg rejser Dig denne Støtte,
dens Grund er mit Hjærtes Muld;
Skyer kan sløre dens Tinde,
men Navnet straaler i Guld.
Og glimred min Kunst end ofte
mig selv og min Sang til Mén:
her var min Sang i Kofte,
da den rejste Dig denne Sten.
