Canta’m la teva estimada cançó de bressol! Des que la joventut s’acomiadà de mi, m’agrada tant sentir aquesta melodia. Vine a mi, dolç i meravellós so, només tu, al llarg de la nit, pots encara encativar el meu cor neguitós. Posa la teva petita mà damunt els meus cabells i somiem en el nostre país natal, en la desapareguda glòria i felicitat. Com una estrella que passa solitària, la teva rondalla, en flamejant claredat, ha d’orlar les nits de la meva melangia. I posa’m doncs a la capçalera el ram de roses!
