Gold'nes Lenzlicht leuchtet durch die Au,
Unsrer Berge wintersernste Zinnen morgen
Schon in heiterm Grün ich schau!

Mutter, sieh doch, wie ein güt'ger Himmel
Ringsum alles ziert und alles schmücket,
Wie mit ihrem Zauberstab Lenzgöttin
Huldvoll alle, alle Welt glücket!

Mutter sag, warum in's Herz mir leuchtet
Gar kein süßer Sonnenschein,
Oder sag mir, liebe Mutter: "Glaubst du,
Daß der Lenz mir bringt den Liebsten mein?"

Mare, a fora ja és primavera,
la llum daurada d’abril resplendeix a la prada,
demà, els cims hivernals de les nostres muntanyes
els veuré coberts d’un verd joliu!

Mare, esguarda com un cel bondadós
orna i decora tot l’entorn,
com, amb la seva vareta màgica, la deessa de la primavera
benignament fa feliç tot, tot el món!

Mare, digues, per què al meu cor no hi brilla
cap raig de sol,
o bé digues, estimada mare: “Creus que
la primavera em portarà el meu estimat?”
