Frühlingsschnee
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations: CHI ENG
In dem Thale blühn die Bäume,
Auf die Höhen fällt der Schnee;
Soll es stören deine Träume,
Wandeln deine Lust in Weh?
Anders kann's am Abend kommen:
Auf den Höhn die Sonne lacht,
Doch im Thal ist sie verglommen,
Und bricht an die düstre Nacht.
Nimm die Freude, wo sie winket,
Heute hier und morgen dort!
Thöricht, wenn der Mut entsinket,
Such sie nur am rechten Ort!

Springtime snow
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
In the valley the trees are blossoming,
Upon the heights snow is falling;
Should this disturb your dreams,
Turn your joy into pain?
Things may be different in the evening:
Upon the heights the sun smiles,
But in the valley it has died away,
And the gloomy night begins.
Grasp the joy wherever it beckons,
Today here and tomorrow there!
It is foolish to let your courage fall,
Only seek [joy] in the right place!
