Morgenleuchtenden Kanälen fahren,
Also wiegt im blauen Meer der Tage
Unsrer Liebe ungestörte Waage,
Also gleiten leicht und ohne Ende
Uns die Stunden durch die lassen Hände:
Eine, die von Lustgelächter funkelt,
Eine, die in Liebesdämmer dunkelt,
Eine, die von Liedern überflutet,
Eine, die sich lautlos süß verblutet.
Schweigend ruhen wir und staunend sehen
Wir die Schönen auf- und untergehen,
Rudertropfen von den Händen wischend,
Unsre Finger schwesterlich vermischend,
Selten nur nach einem Kuß verlangend,
Diesen schweigsam gebend und empfangend ...
Also gleiten leicht und ohne Ende

Suaument, com naveguen les góndoles

Suaument, com naveguen les góndoles,
per els clars, lluminosos canals al matí,
així, en la mar blava dels dies, es gronxa
la impertorbable balança del nostre amor,
així, lleugeres i sense fi, s’escolen
les hores de les nostres mans laxes:
una, que espurneja amb joioses riallades,
una, que s’enfosqueix en l’ocàs de l’amor,
una, desbordada de cançons,
una, que en silenci es dessagna dolçament.
Restem silents i veiem embadalits
com les hores joliues s’enlairen i davallen,
eixugant-nos les gotes que esquitxen els rems,
entrellaçant germanívolament els nostres dits,
només rares vegades demanant un bes,
fent-lo i rebent-lo en silenci...
Així, lleugeres i sense fi, s’escolen
hores i dies de les nostres mans.
