så klar så lys fra Top og Tinde;
ja, vis os Vejen, til vi kan
vort Selv så rent som dit gjenfinde,
om Lykken end blir nok så tynd,
o Jotunheim, du viser Vejen:
"auf der Alm, auf der Alm, 
auf der Alm da gibt's ka' Sünd!"

Farvel du Verden, i hvis Skygge
der gløder et elektrisk Skjær,
hvori forklarte Ånder bygge
Kapeller op fra grønne Brær.
Når fjernt fra dig enhver især
sin Kirke for sin Andagt søker

Sur le seuil, nous jetons un regard en arrière,
là-bas, sous la limite des brumes,
baigné d’un rayon de soleil jailli des névés,
se trouve le pays merveilleux de la terre promise ;
Le ciel s'éclaircit, un  brasier resplendit
si clair, si lumineux, resplendit des sommets jusqu’aux cimes.
Montre-nous le chemin, jusqu’à ce que nous retrouvions
notre moi aussi pur que le tien,
quand bien même le bonheur deviendrait bien mince.
Ô Jotunheim, c’est  toi qui montres le chemin :
« Sur l'alpage, sur l'alpage,
sur l'alpage, il n'y a pas de péché ! »

Adieu, monde, dans l'ombre duquel
luit une clarté électrique,
où des esprits illuminés érigent
des chapelles sur les glaciers verdoyants.
Quand, loin de toi
chacun cherche l'église où recueillir sa prière,
quand  peut-être, parmi les arbres de la forêt,
nous ouvrons les livres de psaumes de la Nature,
alors quelqu'un acquiesce : « Commence, commence ! »
Ô Tvindehoug, ce texte s’applique à toi :

Notes
stanza 1 line 10 "Jotunheim" : massif montagneux de Norvège, pays des géants de la mythologie nordique..
stanza 2 line 10 "Tvindehoug" : site de l'ouest de la Norvège, célèbre pour sa cascade et les montagnes environnantes.
