by Karl Stieler (1842 - 1885)

Auferstanden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Durch's Fenster scheint der Maientag,
Ich schließe die Augenlider
Und horche -- das ist Lerchenschlag!
  O endlich wieder!

Ich lausche, wie des Windes Hauch
Dahin rauscht durch die Zweige,
Es keimen Blüthen an jedem Strauch,
  Auf jedem Steige.

Da rührt mich Wonne allzumal,
Ich schließe die Augenlider --
Ich fühl' es wie einen Sonnenstrahl:
  Ich lebe wieder!

Es fingt die Lerche noch immer fort,
Mein Herze möcht' zerspringen,
Ich lasse verstummen Wort um Wort -- --
  Und laß' sie singen!
