by Julius Karl Reinhold Sturm (1816 - 1896)

Der Wanderbursch
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ein duftig Sträußlein auf dem Hut
Und frischer Mut und junges Blut,
So läßt sich's fröhlich wandern!
Das Sträußlein kam von ihrer Hand,
Und um den Hut das grüne Band
Kam auch von keiner andern.

Und übers Jahr, o Lieb', o Glück!
Kehr' ich mit Strauß und Band zurück,
Daß sich ihr Herz dran freue,
Und ist verwelkt der frische Strauß
Und wusch das Band der Regen aus,
Hielt Farbe doch die Treue.

Confirmed with Von allen Zweigen: Neuere lyrische Dichtungen, ed. by Sophie Verena, Berlin, 1891.
