Schneewittchen in der Wiege
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG FRE
So stille ist's im Schlosse,
Geht Alles auf den Zeh'n,
Die Bronnen hört man rauschen,
Die Winde hört man wehn.

Schneewittchen in der Wiegen
Träumt lächelnd für sich hin,
Die Mutter schaukelt's leise,
Die blasse Königin.

Sie singt ein altes Liedchen,
Das hat so wehen Klang,
Durch hohe Bogenfenster
Schwebt zitternd der Gesang.

Da reckt der Tag die Glieder[,]
Die Tauben werden wach,
Die Sonne klettert lustig
Bis auf des Schlosses Dach.

Schneewittchen in der Wiegen
Träumt lächelnd für sich hin --
Die Mutter ist gestorben,
Die blasse Königin.

Snow White in the cradle
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
It is so quiet in the castle,
Everyone is walking on tiptoes,
One hears the water-springs burbling,
One hears the winds blowing.

Snow White in the cradle
Lies dreaming smilingly,
Her mother is gently rocking her,
The pale queen.

She sings an old song
That has such a woeful sound,
Through the high-arched windows
The song wafts tremblingly.

Day stretches its limbs,
The doves waken,
The sun climbs merrily
Up to the roof of the castle.

Snow White in the cradle
Lies dreaming smilingly,
Her mother has died,
The pale queen.
