Chorus: Hail, O Queen, Most beautiful of us all! May you be pleased by the tribute And receive it graciously! Queen: It is good that you praise me, The most beautiful one here In the entire breadth of the land; And yet across these mountains, With seven dwarves, Is one who can be called fairer. It makes me angry and makes me ill, But I will thank you no less. Chorus: Hail, O Queen, etc. Queen: If I could only trust you, And see no one more beautiful, Other than whom you know so well! Yet one more will I ask; And it will tell the truth, My loyal mirror on the wall. Oh mirror, mirror on the wall Who is the most beautiful in the land? One voice (mezzo-soprano): Madame Queen, you are the most beautiful here. But Snow White, over the mountains There, with the seven friendly dwarves Is yet a thousand times more beautiful! Chorus: Hail, O Queen, etc.
