Morgengruß
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Das ist der Morgen, den ich grüße!
Mein Morgen.
Sanft steigt er aus den Hügeln auf.
Die Riesenfittiche beleben sich
Voll roter Rosen,
Wenn er aus dämmerdunkelem Ei
Der Nacht mit einem kühnen
Unwirklich großen Schwung sich löst
Und seine Schritte durch die Allmacht dröhnen,
Daß selbst die alte Mutter Sonne
Ihm zu begegnen sich erhebt.
Das ist der Morgen, den ich grüße!
[Mein Morgen.]1
Sanft streichelt er die durstigen Halme
Und läßt die dürren trinken
Aus seiner gütevollen weißen Hand.

Morning greeting
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
This is the morning that I greet!
My morning.
Gently it arises from the highlands,
Its giant pinions quicken
Full of red roses,
When from the twilit, dark egg
Of the night, it frees itself with
A bold, surreal, great impetus,
And its steps resound mightily through the omnipotence,
So that even the old Mother Sun herself
Rises to greet him.
This is the morning that I greet!
[My morning.]1
Gently it strokes the thirsty grass blades
And lets the arid ones drink
From its beneficent white hand.
