by Johannes Trojan (1837 - 1915)

Hasensalat
Language: German (Deutsch)
Morgens in den Garten trat
Liese, klein und niedlich.
Saß ein Häschen im Salat,
Schmaust' und that sich gütlich.

Liese sprach: "Du armes Thier,
Wart' einmal, indeß ich
Lauf' ins Haus und hole Dir
Zum Salat den Essig."

Kommt zurück schon mit den Krug --
Niemals lief sie schneller --
Essig gießt sie jetzt genug
Auf den Hasenteller.

"Lieselchen, ich danke dir,"
Sprach der kleine Fresser,
"Eigentlich doch schmeckt es mir
Ohne Essig besser."

Confirmed with Johannes Trojan, Hundert Kinderlieder, Berlin: Freund & Jeckel, 1899, song no. 39, page 68.
