Wanderung

So weit gegangen! -- und noch immer weiter -- --
Und wird das Land vor mir nicht immer breiter?
Wo endet diese hauchumtrübte Ferne?
Und müde schon mein Fuß -- ich möchte gerne
Zu meiner Heimath wieder rückwärts gehen,
Ihr wieder in das schöne Auge sehen! . . .

Doch weiter! -- bin ich schon so weit gegangen
Muß ich an's Ziel doch endlich hingelangen.
Und einmal doch -- und weiß ich auch nicht wann --
Die Stätte finden, wo ich schlafen kann!
