by Ferdinand Avenarius (1856 - 1923)

Im Gewitter
Language: German (Deutsch)
Weinerlicher Regen,
Heute glückt dirs nicht --
Trotzig allerwegen
Flimmerts schon von Licht:

Lang genug getrunken
Hats herein den Haß, --
Endlich wirfts den Funken
Doch ins Pulverfaß!

Und mit Donnerkrachen
Aufwärts platzt es dort,
Und mit Hohneslachen
Feuerts drüben fort,

Und bei Flintenknattern
Und Kanonengroll
Blitzen Flammennattern
Alle Lüfte voll.

Und ich schreit im Feuer
Mitten durch die Schlacht --
Ists auch nicht geheuer,
Ists doch eine Pracht!

Wärs so übel, Seele,
Fänd im bunten Braus
All dein trüb Gequäle
Lustigen Garaus?
