Radojica mali pred majkom se hvali: 
"Majko moja mila da si opazila, 
kako malo prvo popeh se na drvo!
Rekla bi mi, da sam ptica, 
ili mala vjeverica."
Ali majka stara Radi odgovara: 
"Za miloga Boga, nemoj činit toga, 
jer ćeš pasti lako, bit će naopako."
No naš mali Rade slušati ne znade,
već on kao prvo opet će na drvo;
ne dosegne grane, omakne se, pane,
i prelomi ruku na veliku muku!

Der kleine Radojica

Language: German (Deutsch) after the Croatian (Hrvatski)

Radojica kleiner lobt sich vor der Mutter:
"Mütterlein, mein liebes hättest du gesehen, 
wie ich vorhin einen Baum erklettert habe,
hätt'st gerufen, bist ein Vöglein,
oder auch ein Eichhörnchen."
Doch die alte Mutter antwortet dem Rade:
"Ach, um Gottes Willen, mach nicht solche Dummheit,
wenn du runter fallen wirst, wirst du dir was brechen."
Aber unser Rade hört nicht auf die Mutter,
sondern wie schon einmal klettert auf dem Baum;
greift nach hohen Ästen, rutscht und fällt herunter,
und er bricht den Arm: "Mütterlein, o wehe!"
