Mein Birkenhain stand weiß und kahl,
Die dünnen Stämmchen fror,
Da kam April und zauberte
Das Leben grün hervor.

Mit einem Schleier angethan
Steht nun mein Birkenhain;
Das grüne Wunder ist geschehn,
Nun laßt uns gläubig sein.

Nun laßt uns glauben wiederum,
Daß Leben Schönheit heißt:
Mein Birkicht ist ein Zauberwald,
In dem das Wunder kreißt.

Les frêles petits troncs ont gelé,
Puis vint avril qui ensorcela
La vie qui, verte, jaillit.

Revêtu d'un voile se dresse
Maintenant mon bois de bouleaux ;
Le miracle vert est arrivé,
Soyons croyants, maintenant.

Aujourd'hui, croyons à nouveau
Que la beauté de la vie signifie
Que ma boulaie est une forêt magique
Dans laquelle circule le miracle.
