Skal Kilderne da isne,
før de har sunget ud?

Af Purpuret og Guldet
Gud væved Livets Traad,
den lyser gennem Muldet
i Elskovs Smil og Graad.

Aa, tag dog mine Hænder,
og hold dem fast i din,
og føl hvor Blodet brænder,
min hede, unge Vin.

Og føl mit Hjerte gløde,
og tag det ind til dit,
da brænder det til døde,
men blusser klart og frit.

Les sources gèleront-elles
avant qu'elles n'aient chanté ?

Avec la pourpre et l'or,
Dieu a tissé le fil de la vie,
il brille au sein de l'humus
dans le sourire et les larmes de l'amour.

Ô, prends donc ma main,
et tiens la serrée dans la tienne,
et sens combien brûle mon sang,
ce vin jeune et chaud.

Et sens mon cœur embrasé
et prends le dans le tien,
alors il brûlera à en mourir
mais ses flammes seront claires et libres.
