Dem Land, wo meine Wiege stand, Ist doch kein andres gleich; Es ist mein liebes Vaterland Und heißt das deutsche Reich. Wie lieblich sind hier Berg und Thal, Die Wälder wie so schön! Wie lockend auf im Sonnenstrahl Die rebumkränzten Höhn! An Städten rauscht vorbei der Strom, Trägt reicher Kaufherrn Gut, Und freundlich spiegelt Burg und Dom Sich in der blauen Flut. Mein Kaiser aber thront als Held In tapfrer Heldenschar Und führt in seinem Wappenfeld Den sieggewohnten Aar. Drum, fragt man mich nach meinem Land, Brennt mir das Herz sogleich, Und stolz dem Frager zugewandt, Ruf' ich: "Das deutsche Reich!"
