1. O Lindenduft, o Lindenbaum

O Lindenduft, o Lindenbaum,
Ihr mahnt mich wie ein Kindheitstraum,
Wo ich euch immer finde.
Die Linden lieb' ich überaus;
Es stand ja meines Vaters Haus
Im Schatten einer Linde.

Im Sommer, wann die Linden blüh'n,
Wie da die Bienchen sich bemüh'n
Und saugen so geschwinde.
Mein Vater liebte Bienen sehr,
Drum ist mir noch vom Vater her
Ein heilger Baum die Linde.

Im Lindenschatten schmeckt der Wein,
Und schmeckt ein Küßchen doppelt fein
Von einem schönen Kinde.
Dem Vater bring' ich dieses Glas,
Der auch nicht gerne trocken saß
Im Schatten einer Linde.
