Du Vater in des Himmels Licht, Vor dessen Strahlenangesicht Die Seraph' stehn und Cherubim, Dein Name sei uns immerdar Geheiliget am Dankaltar, Und aller Anfang sei mit ihm. Dein Reich ist Deine weite Welt, Du hast es Alles wohl bestellt, Und immer komme dies uns zu; Dein Wille werde stets vollbracht In Himmelsglanz, in Erdennacht, Denn überall bist, Ew'ger! Du. Gib' heut' uns unser täglich Brod, Du, unser Retter in der Noth; Und so vergib' uns uns're Schuld, Daß wir auch unsern Schuldigern Vergeben liebend, nah' und fern, Und hegen Langmuth und Geduld. Und führ' uns in Versuchung nicht, Lass' uns getreu sein uns'rer Pflicht, Und wenn Gewalt droht und Gefahr, So lös' uns von des Übels Macht, Du, der hat Alles wohlbedacht, Dem jedes Herz ist offenbar.
