Von der Weichsel bis zum Rhein!  
Schwörend heb' ich meine Hand, 
Stets dein treuer Sohn zu sein!  

Treue Söhne sind dir Noth, 
Starker Männer treue Brust, 
Treu im Leben, treu im Tod, 
Treu in Schmerzen und in Lust. 

Sei gegrüßt, du Eichenwald, 
Dessen Haupt die Wolke küßt, 
Berg' und Thäler, mannigfalt, 
Deutscher Frühling, sei gegrüßt! 

Bannt mich in des Kerkers Nacht, 
Nehmt mir Lust und Sonnenlicht, 
Meines deutschen Himmels Pracht, 
Meine Heimath raubt ihr nicht!  

Grollt und hadert wie ich wollt, 
In die Fremde stoßt mich aus, 
Wo mein deutsches Blut noch rollt, 
Ist ein deutsches Vaterhaus! 

Deiner Ströme grüner Strand 
Blüht in meines Herzens Schrein, 
Und so bin ich, Vaterland, 
Überall und ewig dein!
