6. Mein Grab  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Wo ich am allerliebsten
Begraben möchte sein,
Das wär' in deinen kühlen
Braun-dunkeln Augen drein.

Da müßt's so tief und ruhig,
So kühl sich ruhen drin;
So oft ich in sie sehe,
Zieht's mich voll Sehnsucht hin.

Jahraus, jahrein dann würd' es
Auf meinem Grabe blühn,
Und Sonnenblick auf immer
Voll Duft darüberziehn.

Gedenk' ich so recht tief mich
Und inniglich hinein,
So möcht' ich, ach! zur Stunde
Jetzt gleich im Grabe sein.

Text Authorship:

  • by Philipp Engelhard von Nathusius (1815 - 1872), "Mein Grab", appears in Fünfzig Gedichte, in Heimliche Gedichte
