2. Klage  [sung text not yet checked]

Language: German (Deutsch)
Seit ich [ein Mal]1 dich umfangen,
Bin ich nur noch mehr verwaist;
    Ach! vergebens
    In des Lebens
Wirbel stürz' ich, denn gefangen
Hält dein Zauber meinen Geist.

Oft in ungestümem Sehnen
Heben meine Schwingen sich;
    Doch mit leisen
    Schlägen Kreisen
Wie ein Zug von wilden Schwänen
Die Gedanken nur um dich!

Ob mich auch die Welt entsagen,
Die Vernunft entsagen heißt,
    Eine Brücke
    Meinem Glücke
Pflegen Träume Nachts zu schlagen,
Bis der Tag den Wahn zerreißt.

Text Authorship:

  • by Heinrich Leuthold (1827 - 1879), "Klage", appears in Gedichte, in 1. Vermischte Gedichte
