Deux Lieder romantiques

by Louis Durey (1888 - 1979)

1. Mon pâle visage
 (Sung text)

Language: French (Français)
Mon pâle visage ne t'a t'il pas
laissé voir mes souffrances?
Et faut-il que ma bouche fière
les confesse avec l'humilité du pauvre?

Oh! cette bouche est bien trop fière
et ne sait qu'embrasser et railler.
Elle peut lancer le sarcasme
tandis que je meurs de douleur.

2. Tu es telle qu'une fleur
 (Sung text)

Language: French (Français)
Tu es telle qu'une fleur,
si charmante, si belle et si pure.
Je te contemple et la tristesse
se glisse dans mon coeur.

Je crois que je devrais étendre
mes mains sur ta tête
et prier Dieu qu'il te conserve
si pure, si belle, si charmante.
