Das wüßt' ich gar [zu]5 gern.
Ist es die singende Nachtigall?
[Ist es]6 der schweigende Abendstern?

Ich weiß nicht, in [wen]7 die [Rose]1 verliebt;
Ich aber lieb' euch all:
[Rose]8, Schmetterling, Sonnenstrahl,
Abendstern und Nachtigall.

Mais alors, de qui la rose est-elle amoureuse ?
J'aimerais bien le savoir.
Est-ce du rossignol chanteur ?
Est-ce de l'étoile du soir muette ?

Je ne sais de qui la rose est amoureuse ;
Mais moi je vous aime tous :
Rose papillon, rayon de soleil,
Étoile du soir et rossignol.
