Was ich zuvor besessen,

Meine Mutter klag' ich an,

Was sonst in Ehren stünde,
Nun [ist es worden]1 Sünde.
Was fang ich an?

Für all' mein Stolz und Freud'
Gewonnen hab' ich Leid.
Ach, wär' das nicht [geschehen]2,

però no vol pas fer-ho.

Jo acuso la meva mare,
ella no ho ha fet pas bé;
el que altrament era honorable
ara esdevingut pecat.
Què puc fer-hi jo?

A canvi del meu orgull i joia
m’he guanyat el dolor.
Ai, si això no hagués estat així,
ai, si pogués anar a mendicar
al moreu ermàs!
