Catalan (Català) translations of Zwei Gedichte, opus 8

by Gerrit Jan van Eijken (1832 - 1879)

Return to the original list

1. Der schwere Abend
 (Sung text)
by Gerrit Jan van Eijken (1832 - 1879), "Der schwere Abend", op. 8 (Zwei Gedichte) no. 1
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die dunklen Wolken hingen
Herab so bang und schwer,
Wir beide traurig gingen
Im Garten hin und her.

So heiß und stumm, so trübe
Und sternlos war die Nacht,
So ganz, wie unsre Liebe,
Zu Tränen nur gemacht.

Und als ich mußte scheiden
Und gute Nacht dir bot,
Wünscht' ich bekümmert beiden
Im Herzen uns den Tod.

Text Authorship:

  • by Nikolaus Lenau (1802 - 1850), "Der schwere Abend", appears in Gedichte, in 4. Viertes Buch, in Liebesklänge

1. El capvespre opressiu
Language: Catalan (Català)
Els ombrívols núvols suraven
cap avall, tan angoixants i opressius,
nosaltres dos caminàvem
pel jardí, d’un costat a l’altre.

La nit sense estrelles era
tan sufocant, silent i trista
com el nostre amor,
creat tan sols per a les llàgrimes.

I quan jo havia de marxar
i et vaig desitjar bona nit,
afligit, desitjava de tot cor
la mort per a tots dos.

2. Abendbild
 (Sung text)
by Gerrit Jan van Eijken (1832 - 1879), "Abendbild", op. 8 (Zwei Gedichte) no. 2
Language: German (Deutsch)
Friedlicher Abend senkt sich aufs Gefilde;
Sanft entschlummert Natur, um ihre Züge
Schwebt der Dämmerung zarte Verhüllung, und sie
  Lächelt die Holde;

Lächelt, ein schlummernd Kind in Vaters Armen,
Der voll Liebe zu ihr sich neigt, sein göttlich
Auge weilt auf ihr, und es weht sein Odem
  Über ihr Antlitz.

Text Authorship:

  • by Nikolaus Lenau (1802 - 1850), no title, appears in Gedichte, in 1. Erstes Buch, in Oden, in Abendbilder, no. 1

2. Imatge del capvespre
Language: Catalan (Català)
Un plàcid capvespre davalla damunt els camps;
dolçament la natura s’adorm, al seu entorn
sura el delicat embolcall del crepuscle, i ella
     encisadora, somriu.

Somriu com una criatura dormint als braços del pare,
que ple d’amor, es vincla al seu envers, els seus
ulls divins resten amb ella, i exhala el seu alè
      damunt el seu rostre.
