1.
Language: Irish (Gaelic)
Chuala an t-amhrán aoibhinn
A chanadh, uair, mo ghrá,
Mheasas go bpléasfadh an croí ’nam
Le pian is le crá.

Tá fíbín fiáin dom ruaigeadh
Amach i dtreo an fheá,
Beidh údar mo chuid buartha
In airde ansin á leá.

2. Und wüßten's die Blumen, die kleinen  [sung text not yet checked]
by L. Deland , "Und wüßten's die Blumen, die kleinen", op. 3 (Vier Lieder von Heine) no. 3
Language: German (Deutsch)
Und wüßten's die Blumen, die kleinen,
Wie tief verwundet mein Herz,
Sie würden mit mir weinen,
Zu heilen meinen Schmerz.

Und wüßten's die Nachtigallen,
Wie ich so traurig und krank,
Sie ließen fröhlich erschallen
Erquickenden Gesang.

Und wüßten sie mein Wehe,
Die [goldnen]1 Sternelein,
Sie kämen aus ihrer Höhe,
Und sprächen Trost mir ein.

[Die]2 alle können's nicht wissen,
Nur [eine]3 kennt meinen Schmerz;
[Sie]4 hat ja selbst zerrissen,
Zerrissen mir das Herz.

Dá mbeadh fhios ag na blátha bídeach’
Na pianta atá im’ chliabh,
Bheidís liomsa ag caoineadh:
Íocshláinte do mo chroí.

Dá mbeadh fhios ag an bhfiliméala
Go bhfuilim i bpéin, faoi bhrón
Do chanfadh os ard dea-scéala
Mo leigheas bheadh ann gan ghó.

Dá dtuigfidís mo chás-sa
Na réilthíní beaga óir
Do bheidís chugam ó na flaithis
Ní bheinn arís faoi bhrón.

Ní thuigeann éinne acu mo chrása
Ag duine amháin atá fhios
Í siúd ar thugas mo ghrá di
Ba ise a dhein an scrios.

Language: Irish (Gaelic)
Ar maidin ’s an ghrian ag taitneamh
Seo mé ag siúl sa ghairdín.
Tá sioscadh ag teacht ó na blátha.
Mo bhéal ina thost nach binn.

Tá sioscadh ag teacht ó na blátha,
Is féachann orm lán de thrua:
“Ná bíse anuas ar ár siúirín,
A mheatacháin lán de bhuairt!”
