You who lead your flock

You who lead your flock,
Complete the task of a true leader
For to lead and not be led
This is sought in a true leader.
Let the leader lead by the counsel
Of the wise, and not in idleness;
A leader should go in front,
And he who is led should obey;
But if the leader does not know the way
Both will perish needlessly.
For he walks away from the light
Who is led by a blind leader,
But he who has a true leader
Has light at all times
And he is well-led
Who is led astray by no-one.
Therefore, you who are leader of leaders
Overcome now those who mislead,
And lead us away thus
That you may bring us through to peace.
Triplum:
Weep, you people of the kingdom!
Your tribe is devastated
Like schismatics;
For half of it is wicked
And the other half is considered
Sophistic.
No-one in the world cares for you,
Your land is given to your enemies
[It is stolen from you]1,
Its status is taken from you;
And their power is increased;
[Now they have power]2.
Your dear friends
Have ruled you foolishly,
Though perhaps without harm;
But immediately they will make you
To be ruled Joyfully
And powerfully, if God allows.
