Ich kenn' ein wildes Röschen

Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich kenn' ein wildes Röschen,
Das blüht so rot im Dornenstrauch,
Das lockt so lieb mit süßem Hauch,
Das sucht mit scharfen Spitzen
Oft mir die Hand zu ritzen -
Das Blut ist kaum zu stillen:
Doch um der Rose willen
Lieb' ich die Dornen auch.

Und hat sie mich gestochen,
Dann blickt sie mich so freundlich an,
Als hätt' sie mir nicht weh getan;
Und schaut' ich noch so wilde -
Sie duftet lieblich milde.
Zuletzt, was will ich machen?
Ich muß von Herzen lachen
Und bleib' ihr zugetan.
