Die Erde prangt als Frühlingsbraut Nun möcht' ich viel Tausend Gäste Mit fröhlichem Maienglockenlaut Einladen zum Hochzeitfeste! Ich möchte von nah und ferne mir Die Lieben zusammen läuten, Auf daß im duftenden Waldrevier Sie Alle sich mit uns freuten! Und läuten die Glöcklein nicht laut genug, Mag auch die Amsel singen, Und die Lerche soll's auf ihrem Flug Über alle Höhen klingen. Vor Allem soll Frau Nachtigall Mit hellem Geschmetter künden: "Herbei, herbei, ihr Fröhlichen all Zu den blühenden Frühlingsgründen!"
