Schweb' empor am Himmel
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE POR
  Schweb' empor am Himmel,
Schöner Abendstern!
Sieht im Glanzgewimmel
Jeder dich ja gern.

  Gehn sie auf, gehn nieder
Sie am Himmelsrand,
Keinen deiner Brüder
Schmückt ein solch Gewand.

  Ihr's scheint an den Kanten
Leicht mit Gold beklebt,
Dein's aus Diamanten
Durch und durch gewebt.

  Steht auch dir zur Seiten
Oft des Mondes Pracht,
Strahlst du doch bei Weiten
Hehrer durch die Nacht.

  Ihm leiht fremde Helle
Seinen Perlenglanz,
Voll aus eigner Quelle
Strömt dein Sonnenglanz.

  Schweb' empor am Himmel,
Schöner Abendstern!
Sieht im Glanzgewimmel
Jeder dich ja gern.

Aan de avondster
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Zweef omhoog ten hemel,
Mooie avondster!
Meer dan and're sterren
Ben jij populair.

Gaan zij op of onder
Aan de hemelrand,
Geen van al je zusters
Straalt zo imposant.

't Is alsof hun kanten
Zijn met goud bekleefd,
Jij met diamanten
Helemaal doorweefd.

Al staat ergens naast jou
Vaak de maan met pracht,
Jij straalt toch wel veruit
Mooier door de nacht.

Uitgeleende lichtheid
Geeft háár parelglans,
Uit jouw eigen volheid
Stroomt jouw zonneglans.

Zweef omhoog ten hemel,
Mooie avondster!
Meer dan and're sterren
Ben jij populair.
