Sommer‑Mondnacht
 (Sung text for setting by A. Deprosse)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
In meiner Liebsten Garten
Sind nur die Rosen noch wach;
Sie ranken empor sich am Erker
Und schau'n in ihr Schlafgemach.

Drei Lilienblättchen warf ich
Zum Fenster ihr hinein:
Ei, schläfst Du oder wachest,
Herzallerliebste mein?

"Mein Herz läßt mich nicht schlafen,
Ich bin so süß erwacht;
Da drunten die Nachtigallen
Schlagen die ganze Nacht." --

Das sind nicht die Nachtigallen,
Die schlagen im Lindenbaum;
Das sind meiner Liebe Gedanken,
Die ziehen durch Deinen Traum.
