Aninka tanzte
Vor uns im Grase
Die raschen Weisen.
  Wie schön war sie!

Mit den gesenkten,
Bescheidenen Augen,
Das stille Mädchen --
  Mich macht' es toll!

Da sprang ein Knöpfchen
Von ihrer Jacke,
Ein goldnes Knöpfchen,
  Ich fing es auf --

Und dachte Wunder
Was mir's bedeute,
Doch hämisch lächelt'
  Jegór dazu,

Als wollt' er sagen:
Mein ist das Jäckchen,
Und was es decket,
Mein ist das Mädchen,
  Und dein -- der Knopf!

Modestement,
Calme, la fille
Me rendait fou !

Soudain une agrafe sauta
De sa veste
Une agrafe d'or,
Je l'attrapai-

Et me demandai bien
Ce que pour moi cela signifiait,
Pourtant, sardonique,
Jegor souriait,

Comme s'il voulait dire :
La veste est à moi,
Et ce qu'elle recouvre,
La fille est à moi,
Et l'agrafe à toi !
