Balde seh ich Rickchen wieder
(Sung text for setting by G. Göhler)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Balde seh ich Rickchen wieder,
balde bald umarm' ich sie,
munter tanzen meine Lieder
nach der süßten Melodie.

Ach wie schön hats mir geklungen,
wenn sie meine Lieder sang!
Lange hab' ich nicht gesungen,
lange, liebe Liebe, lang!

Denn mich ängsten tiefe Schmerzen,
wenn mein Mädchen mir entflieht,
und der wahre Gram im Herzen
geht nicht über in mein Lied.

Doch jetzt sing' ich, und ich habe
Volle Freude süß und rein.
Ja, ich gäbe diese Gabe
nicht für alle Klöster Wein.

Set to music by (Karl) Georg Göhler (1874 - 1954), "Balde seh ich Rickchen wieder", 1915 [ voice and piano ], from 5 Sessenheimer Lieder (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe), no. 5
