Matrosenlied
(Sung text for setting by N. Stollewerk)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Auf Matrosen, die Anker gelichtet,
Die Segel gespannt, den Compaß gerichtet!
Liebchen, Ade!
Scheiden thut weh,
Morgen geht's in die wogende See.

Dort draußen auf tobenden Wellen,
Schwankende Schiffe an Klippen zerschellen.
In Sturm und Schnee
Wird mir so weh,
Daß ich auf immer vom Liebchen geh'.

Einen Kuß noch von rosigen Lippen,
Und ich fürchte nicht Sturm und nicht Klippen,
Brause, du See!
Sturmwind, ... weh'!
Wenn ich mein Liebchen nur wieder seh'!

Und seh' ich die Heimath nicht wieder,
Reißen die Fluthen mich nieder
Tief in die See:
Liebchen, Ade!
Wenn ich dich droben nur wieder seh'!
