Weisst du noch?
(Sung text for setting by M. Spicker)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
Weißt du, wie wir träumend saßen
an dem blüh'nden Rosenhage,
träumend bei der Quelle Flüstern
von dem Glück der künft'gen Tage?

Eine Nachtigall sang flötend
sehnsuchtsvolle, süße Lieder,
und des Schlosses alte Mauern
hallten fern die Klänge wieder.

Unten aber floss der Neckar,
mondbeglänzt das Tal durchrauschend,
und die Bäume wiegten leise
ihre Häupter, Grüße tauschend.

Liebe hauchten Blüt' und Blume,
rauschten flüsternd Fluss und Quelle,
und aus deinen Augen strahlte
mir die Liebe freudenhelle.

Weißt du noch?

Note for stanza 2, line 1: there is a typo in the Spicker score that we have corrected above. We changed "saß" to "sang".
