Sehnsucht
 (Sung text for setting by J. Marx)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)

Alte Gruben schaufle um,
Tiefer werden sie und breiter;
Altes Leid wird nimmer stumm,
Denn im neuen schluchzt es weiter.

Alter Wein, der ungegoren,
Kocht in seines Saftes Gluten;
Alte Sehnsucht schwillt und nährt
Sich am eigenen Verbluten.
