Statt der Blumen und Blätter, die sich sonst regen,
Steht Reisigholz stumm auf allen Wegen.
Am Himmel gehen Nebel und Nässe um,
Und Nachtstürme reiten die Bäume krumm.

Ich stehe hinter Fensterscheiben verloren,
Die alten Lieder sind nur Träume hinter sieben Toren,
Die Geliebte ging weit in den Nebel fort,
Nichts blieb als in den Ohren ihr Liebeswort.
