Da fliegt, als wir im Felde gehn,
ein Sommerfaden über Land,
ein leicht und licht Gespinst der Feen,
und knüpft von mir zu ihr ein Band.

Ich nehm' ihn für ein günstig' Zeichen,
ein Zeichen, wie die Lieb' es braucht.
O Hoffnungen der Hoffnungsreichen,
aus Duft gewebt, von Luft zerhaucht.
