Was klagt sie dem vielgrünen Wald? 
Ach! tief im Herzen da sitzt ihr Weh;
Weiß es nur der rauschende Wald. 

Am Aarensee, am Aarensee, 
Da rauschet der vielgrüne Wald.
Da liegt sie begraben und all ihr Weh. 
Und drüber der rauschende Wald.
