Das Ständchen
 (Sung text for setting by B. Randhartinger)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT ENG FRE ITA
In dem Himmel ruht die Erde,
Mond und Sterne halten Wacht,
Auf der Erd' ein kleiner Garten
Schlummert in der Blumen Pracht.--
Gute Nacht, gute Nacht!

In dem Garten steht ein Häuschen,
Still von Linden überdacht;
Draußen vor dem Erkerfenster
Hält ein Vogel singend Wacht.--
Gute Nacht, gute Nacht!

In dem Erker schläft ein Mädchen,
Träumet von der Blumenpracht;
Ihr im Herzen ruht der Himmel,
D'rin die Engel halten Wacht.--
Gute Nacht, gute Nacht!

Note: Lang's manuscript ends with "Gute Nacht, gute Gut!" - presumably a typo.

Sotto il cielo la terra riposa
 (Sung text translation for setting by B. Randhartinger)
 See original
Language: Italian (Italiano)  after the German (Deutsch)
Sotto il cielo la terra riposa,
mentre vegliano la luna e le stelle,
Sulla terra un piccolo giardino
Sta dormendo fra lo splendore dei fiori.
Buona notte, buona notte!

Nel giardino sta una piccola casa,
sta nascosta sotto un tetto di tigli;
Davanti alla finestra, sul balcone,
Veglia un uccello cinguettando.
Buona notte, buona notte!

Nella stanza dorme una fanciulla,
Sognando i fiori nel loro splendore;
Riposa il cielo dentro il suo cuore,
e gli angeli vi stanno a vegliare.
Buona notte, buona notte!
