und nichts mehr fühl' ich als den Druck der Hand.

Denn nur ein Hauch sind deine Worte mir,
ein toter Hauch, und meine Worte dir ;
und deine Arme, die du um mich schlangest,
sie spür' ich fern, und deines Lebens Strom,
der pocht und pocht, verrinnt mir unerkannt,
und keine Brücke ist von Mensch zu Mensch.
