Herbstlied
(Sung text for setting by H. Bill)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG ENG FRE
Holder Lenz, du bist dahin!
Nirgends darfst du bleiben!
Wo ich sah dein frohes Blühn,
Braust des Herbstes banges Treiben.

Wie der Wind so traurig fuhr
Durch den Strauch, als ob er weine;
Sterbeseufzer der Natur
Schauern durch den welken Hain.

Wieder ist, wie bald! wie bald!
Mir ein Jahr geschwunden.
Fragend rauscht es durch den Wald:
"Hat dein Herz sein Glück gefunden?"

Waldesrauschen, wunderbar
Hast du mein Herz getroffen!
Treulich bringt ein jedes Jahr
Neues Laub wie neues Hoffen.

Herfstlied
(Sung text translation for setting by H. Bill)
 See original
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Lente lief, je bent voorbij!
Nergens, nergens mag je blijven!
Waar ik zag jouw bloei, zo blij,
Hoor ik herfst nu angst verspreiden.

Treurig als de wind, die guur
Door de struiken welhaast mauwde,
Zucht de stervende natuur
Huiv'rend door de matte wouden.

Weerom is, hoe vlug al oud,
Heel een jaar van mij verslonden.
Vragend ruist het door het woud:
"Heeft je hart geluk gevonden?"

Wouden ruisend, vreemd en zwaar
Ben je mij in 't hart geslopen!
Steevast brengt weer ieder jaar
Kwijnend loof en kwijnend hopen.
