Aus der Fremde I
(Sung text for setting by R. Spring)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Diese kummervolle Erde
Ist das Haus der Fremde.
Und nach meiner Heimat hin
verlangt's mich aus der Fremde.

Bei Gesang und Saitenspiele,
Im Gemach der Freude
Jubeln sie, doch stumm vom Feste
Blickt hinaus der Fremde.

Einen Goldpokal, gefüllt
Mit klarem Blut der Rebe,
Reicht man ihm, doch trüben Kummer
Trinkt daraus der Fremde.
