Zum Abschied
 (Sung text for setting by W. Speyer)
 See original
Language: German (Deutsch)
Auf! Wohlan! Es sei geschieden,
Weil ja doch zuletzt hienieden
Alles einmal scheiden muß.
Nehmt den letzten Abschiedsgruß!

Doch es sei mit heiter'm Singen;
Statt der Rede Gläserklingen,
Statt der Tränen nehmt den Wein!
Dies soll unser Abschied sein.

Kommt ihr einstens einmal wieder,
Ei! Dann sollen alte Lieder,
Alte Freundschaft, alter Wein
Unser erstes Grüßen sein.
