Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Auf dem grünen Rasensitze,
  Hier am kleinen Wasserfall,
Hör' ich von des Thurmes Spitze,
  Eines Silberglöckleins Schall.

 ...

Glöcklein gibt mir ernste Kunde,
  Ruft: der Tag hat sich geneigt;
Mir auch kommt die Abendstunde,
  Da die Sonne niedersteigt.

Dann, o liebes Glöcklein, klinge,
  Freundlich mir zu Grabes Ruh' ;
Die befreite Seele schwinge
  Selig sich der Heimath zu.

The little bell
 (Sung text translation for setting by F. Kamm)

Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Add this translation to the Basket | Add tr by F. Kamm
Upon the green, grassy seat
  Here by the little waterfall,
I hear from the top of the tower,
  The ringing of a little silver bell,.

 ...

The little bell gives me solemn tidings,
  You call: the day has drawn to a close;
To me as well comes the evening hour,
When the sun shall descend.

Then, oh dear little bell, ring
  Me kindly to the rest of the grave;
May my freed soul blissfully
  Swing its way upward to my homeland.

Note: the text above is taken from stanzas 1,5,6 of the original text.
