Durch die wolkige Maiennacht
Geht ein leises Schallen,
Wie im Wald die Tropfen sacht 
Auf die Blätter fallen.

Welch' ein ahnungsreicher Duft
Weht aus allen Bäumen!
Dunkel webt es in der Luft
Wie von Zukunftsträumen.

Und im Hauch der auf mich sinkt,
Dehnt sich all' mein Wesen,
Und die müde Seele trinkt
Schauerndes Genesen:

Müde Seele, hoffe nur,
Morgen kommt die Sonne,
Und du blühst mit Wald und Feld
Hell in Frühlingswonnen!

Dans la nuit de mai, chargée de nuages,
S’élève un léger murmure,
Comme lorsque, dans la forêt, doucement,
Les gouttes glissent sur les feuilles.

Quel parfum chargé de mystère
S’exhale de chaque arbre !
L’air obscur tisse en silence
Des songes venus de l’avenir.

Et dans ce souffle qui descend sur moi,
Tout mon être s’agrandit,
Et mon âme lasse s’abreuve
D’un frisson de  guérison.

Âme fatiguée, garde espoir :
Demain le soleil renaîtra,
Et tu fleuriras avec forêts et prairies,
Dans la radieuse joie du printemps.
