Stille Liebe
(Sung text for setting by R. Franz)
 Matches base text
Language: German (Deutsch)
In dem frischen, grünen Wald
streif' ich leicht und froh herum,
singe recht aus voller Seele,
und ich weiß es wohl, warum!

Kluge Blümchen, heiter lächelnd,
nicken aus dem duft'gen Grün,
und die kleinen Vögel singen
und die weißen Wölkchen zieh'n.

Kleine Vögel in den Zweigen,
singet mir ein schönes Lied,
weiße Wölkchen dort am Himmel,
nehmt es zu der Liebsten mit!

Kleine Vögel, bunte Blumen,
wie verscheucht ihr jeden Schmerz!
Blauer Himmel, stille Liebe,
wie beseligt ihr das Herz!

Composition:

Set to music by Robert Franz (1815 - 1892), "Stille Liebe", op. 41 (Sechs Gesänge) no. 4 (1867?), published 1867 [ voice and piano ], Leipzig, Breitkopf & Härtel
